Bhai Randhir Singh Dhira was born in the year of 1952, in the house of Sardar Chanan Singh and from the womb of Mata Swaran Kaur in the village of Mal Chak, district Tarn Taran. Bhai Sahib was second eldest of five children, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Bhai Randhir Singh, Bhai Mukhtyar Singh, Bibi Amarjit Kaur and Bhai Joginder Singh. From the start Bhai Sahib did not go school and always helped his father at the farms. Bhai Sahib was always of religious views, from a young age Bhai Sahib stayed fit and active in sports. Bhai Sahib was very interested in Kabbadi. At the age of 20, Bhai Sahib took Amrit from the Panj Payra at Baba Bidhi Chand Nihang Dal in the village of Mundha, this Amrit Sanchar was done by Baba Nand Singh and Baba Amarjit Singh.

Bhai Sahib stayed with the Baba Bidhi Chand Nihang Dal in the Mundha village in the same Nihang Dal, Bhai Amrik Singh Jaura also stayed here. Bhai Amrik Singh Jaura was a close friend of Bhai Sahib and he also was the 2nd Jathedar of Tat Khalsa 96 Crori. Bhai Sahib stayed at the Nihang Dal and continued to do sewa from his heart. In the Nihang Dal, Bhai Sahib was called Piara Singh as at the time of Amrit Sanchar the Panj Pyare had given Bhai Sahib this name. Soon Baba Nand Singh Ji gave Bhai Sahib the duty of looking after a Gurudwara in the village of Deo. Bhai Sahib fulfilled his role at this Gurudwara with full responsibility. During his time in Sri Darbar Sahib, Amristar the Dharam Yodha Morcha was going on for the equal rights of minorities. The speeches of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale were heard all over Punjab and the sleeping Punjabi’s had now started waking up. Singhs from Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale’s Jatha would regularly visit Bhai Sahib, Singhs such as Bhai Kulwant Singh Nagoke, Bhai Lakha Singh Nagoke, Bhai Surinder Singh Wing, Bhai Balwinder Singh Wing, Bhai Wassan Singh Sakhira and others.

In 1980, the Indian security forces surrounded Tarna Dal Shoni in Baba Bakala which was under the command of Baba Bishan Singh. The enemy were looking for a Jhujaru Singh by the name of Bhai Jagir Singh Bhalwan, who was from Vandala village in Baba Bakala area. Bhai Bhalwan Singh faught the Indian security forces and in the end escaped on one of the horses belonging to Baba Bishan Singh. The Indian security forces were unable to catch this Jhujaru Singh. Due to the Jhujaru Singh escaping the Indian security forces were really angry, so they shot and wounded some Nihang Singhs at the Tarna Dal Shoni and also killed many horses that belonged to Baba Bishan Singh. After this Baba Bishan Singh ordered the Singhs to form Tat Khalsa, a group that would defend Sikhi at all costs. Singhs such as Bhai Sahib, Bhai Amrik Singh Jaura, Bhai Jarnail Singh Buh, Bhai Rasal Singh Arifke, Bhai Makhan Singh Pakhopur and Bhai Ajaib Singh Mahakal Pakhopur attacked a police station in Fattu Dinga and looted the police armoury and even killed some of the police officers. After this Bhai Sahib would complete every task he was given by Bhai Kulwant Singh Santa with his life on the line.

In 1984, short time before the attack Bhai Sahib went to meet Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale at Sri Harimandir Sahib, here Bhai Sahib shared his views with Sant Ji and listened to Sant Ji’s speeches. Bhai Sahib was so moved by Sant Ji that he started taking part in Dharam Yodha Morcha and started staying with Sant Ji. Soon the Indian Army attacked Sri Harimandir Sahib following the orders of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale and General Shabeg Singh, Bhai Sahib took position at the Bunga Maharaja Sher Singh near Sri Akaal Takht Sahib. From here Bhai Sahib faught the Indian Army until 6th June 1984 and after he was arrested in a wounded condition. Bhai Sahib was moved to many jails like Ludhiana, Nabha and ended up in Jodhpur jail. In jail Bhai Sahib learnt to read and write, Bhai Sahib also did his Gurbani Santhaya with other Gursikhs in jail.

In 1990 Bhai Sahib was released from Jodhpur jail, upon being released Bhai Sahib was married to Bibi Sarabjit Kaur who was from the village of Chuchakwal. Bhai Sahib had one son, Bhai Sahib Singh. It was during this time Bhai Amrik Singh Jaura attained Shaheedi. After Bhai Jaura’s Shaheedi the turban of Tat Khalsa 96 Crori was given to Bhai Sahib. Bhai Sahib was brave and fearless, who took on any challenged he faced as the Jathedar of Tat Khalsa. Bhai Sahib was now staying in the village Kang near Khadur Sahib. On 15th May 1992, Bhai Sahib was arrested from his Nihang Shoni by Tarn Taran police, Bhai Sahib’s family or his Jatha never saw Bhai Sahib again. It is believed that Bhai Sahib was killed in a fake encounter. After Bhai Sahib Shaheedi, his Jatha merged with Baba Bishan Singh’s Baba Bakala Nihang Dal.
