Shaheed Bhai Chamkaur Singh Dhala alias Bhai Kuljit Singh Moga

Khalistan Commando Force

Normally the human that gives their life for the panth deserve our up most respect as warriors, but there are some warriors who a calm and are loved by everyone. Especially those that believe it is their duty to kick out the fake Khadku Singhs out of the armed struggle. In the village of Dhala near Moga lived Sardar Chamkaur Singh who within the Sikh Freedom Movement was known as Bhai Kuljit Singh Moga. Bhai Sahib took it upon him to filter out the black cats, informants, looters and also explained to the Hindus that their fight is not against the one sector of people instead it is against the system of India and the only people that need to fear the Jhujaru Singhs are the ones who commit injustices on the Sikhs within the boundary of Punjab.

Bhai Chamkaur Singh was born in the year of 1962 in the month of Visakh in the house of Sardar Joga Singh and from the womb of Mata Basant Kaur. From childhood Bhai Sahib was strong minded and a fast thinker. This son who was very much loved by his parents passed his 8th class and started working at his own farms. Bhai Sahib really enjoyed the agricultural industry and farming. These were days when for the rights of the Punjab and Panth the Sikhs were doing Dharam Yudh Morchas. The true and pure words of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale woke up the youth. To take their rights from the Indian regime, groups of ‘Motorcyclewale’ were formed within the Sikh youths.

The locals, especially the Sikh youth of the Beghampura area were coloured in the colour of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale. The Sikh Student Federation unit at Guru Nanak College, Moga were becoming more active daily and they decided to fight the injustices of the system head on. Every Sikh youth wanted to do something big for the Sikh panth. In these circumstances Bhai Sahib came in contact with Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale in the year of 1983. After taking Amrit from the Panj Pyare, Bhai Sahib became revolutionary minded. Bhai Sahib visited Sri Harimandir Sahib frequently. In the list of the government Bhai Sahib’s name was amongst the most dangerous men, but Bhai Sahib concentrate in any sewa that Guru Maharaj gave him.

In the end the Indian government committed the most hideous act in June 1984. The Indian army tried to destroy the foundation of Sikhi and kill any chance of survival for the Sikhs. The attack on Sri Harimandir Sahib was code named Operation Blue Star, after that the government ordered the killings of Sikh youths from the age of 15-35 who were Amritdhari and this was code named Operation Woodrose. It was in this army action Bhai Sahib was also arrested along with other Sikh youths. Bhai Sahib was first taken to the Nabha jail and then to Ladha Kothi where like other singhs he was also blindly tortured, which Bhai Sahib laughed at and said, “I had given my exam and now I have passed.”

In the end Bhai Sahib was sent to Jodhpur jail with other Sikh youths. Most of the prisoners had ‘Jodhpuri’ put on the end of their names. In jail Bhai Sahib met Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sukha alias General Labh Singh, chief of Khalistan Commando Force and saw his chance to join the Jhujaru Singhs to fight for the rights of Sikhs. According to the planning within the jail General Labh Singh had Bhai Jarnail Singh Halwara arrange for the release of singhs from Jodhpur jail, amongst the singhs was Bhai Sahib. The Sikh Freedom Movement was picking up momentum.

On 14th March 1989, Bhai Sahib was released from Jodhpur jail. Bhai Sahib went home and tried to do actions in secret from home, but the police started harassing Bhai Sahib daily. In fact the police were harassing Sikh youths so they would leave home and that would make it easy for the police to kill these youths. SSP Swaran Ghotna, Thanedar Gurbachana, Thanedar Kashmira and the Thanedar Darshan of Sunaam were daily harassing Bhai Sahib and if Bhai Sahib was not at home they would arrest Family members including women as well as relatives. Whenever they felt like, the police would raid Bhai Sahib’s home. Inspector Kashmira had completely ruined the family and its assets.

On 20th January 1990, Bhai Sahib married Bibi Kulwinder Kaur who gave birth to Bhai Sahib’s daughter, Bibi Jagwinder Kaur. After some time the police again arrested Bhai Sahib and sent him to jail charged with fake case of weapons. After being released Bhai Sahib joined the Jhujaru Singh on the battlefield and became active under the name of Bhai Kuljit Singh Moga. On 10th May 1990, Bhai Sahib was given the rank of Lt General of Khalistan Commando Force. Bhai Sahib was doing actions under the command of Bhai Paramjit Singh Panjwar.

During this time black cats were looting the families of Ludhiana under the name of Khadku Singhs. Killing the rich and looting the poor, these black cats were throwing dirt on the names of the real Khadku Singhs. It was important the singhs tamed these murderers and looters. Bhai Kuljit Singh Moga, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Sheikhapura, Bhai Sanpuran Singh Sarabha, Bhai Harkewal Singh Sarabha and Bhai Kirandeep Singh Mehna did many missions and gave assurance to the locals which proved to the Punjabis that the government are the ones who are throwing dirt on the names of Khadku Singhs.

Due to Bhai Sahib’s high and Gurmukh thinking, the Sikh Freedom Movement in the Moga/Ludhiana area was rising day by day. To capture Bhai Sahib the police started harassing Bhai Sahib’s friends as well as relatives. Bhai Sahib’s sister that was married in the village of Sohi had been also arrested with her husband, the police targeted Bhai Sahib’s nephews and nieces. Only one thing could be heard amongst the police stations of Dakha, Jagraon, Dhelon, Sudhar and Raikot, which was to capture Bhai Chamkaur Singh Dhala alias Bhai Kuljit Singh Moga alias Jodhpuri at any cost.

Under the power of Butcher Beanta, KPS Gill was killing innocent Sikh youths all over Punjab. Looking at the circumstances in Punjab, Bhai Kuldeep Singh Sheikhapura went to Uttar Pardesh (UP) and later attained shaheedi there. The Bhai Harkewal Singh Sarabha also went to Bihar and attained shaheedi there. But Bhai Sahib did not leave Punjab even after he was requested by the Singhs. It is said that the Dhelon police arrested Bhai Sahib’s singhni and daughter from the village of Latale and no one ever heard anything from them since.

How Bhai Sahib was arrested or which black cat had him arrested is not clear yet, but is it said that Bhai Sahib was blindly tortured and killed. On 25th January 1993 the newspaper headline read that the Khanna police had a fierce encounter in the village of Siarh and after half an hour of battling Bhai Chamkaur Singh Dhala attained shaheedi. There was 5 Lakh Rupees reward on Bhai Sahib’s head. The police accused Bhai Sahib of many murders, which the world knew was false. It was with Bhai Sahib a singh from Bhindranwala Tigers Force of Khalistan, Dr Swaranjit Singh Channa alias Dr Harjit Singh’s brother Bhai Jarnail Singh Giaspura was also made shaheed. The family of Bhai Sahib were still harassed by the Punjab police after his shaheedi and the family then moved to America. The family of Bhai Sahib hold an Annual Shaheedi Smagam in America in memory of Shaheed Bhai Chamkaur Singh Dhala, Shaheed Bibi Kulwinder Kaur (Singhni) and Bibi Jagwinder Kaur (Daughter).
